Mini Course, Maximum Effort
2nd Annual Great Island Mini-Adventure Triathlon Enjoyable Event.
LOCK HAVEN – The Second Annual Mini-Adventure Triathlon was held Friday evening, June 26, 2015.
The event included a 1k kayak paddle, a 8k bike ride and a 2k run. Participants of all ages competed in the even including several youngsters, some accompanied by their parents.
The overall and Ironman Champion was Seth Ross (shown above) of Clifford, Pa. The 10 year-old athlete completed the entire course in only 38:19.
Ross is the son of Chaz Ross, the eight-time ironman champion in the full sized version of the Great Island Adventure Triathlon and will be defending his title Saturday morning.
The 2015 full version will get step off at 8 a.m for a 5k kayak paddle, 25k bike ride and a 5k run. For the first time this year, a new race featuring a version that includes a 750 meter swim version in leu of the kayak paddle, will also include the same 25k bike route and 5k run.
The course is centered around the finish line and transition point at the Woodward Boat Launch.
