Summer Concert Series Opens
Biscuit Jam Entertains in Kickoff Event
LOCK HAVEN – A beautiful Friday evening at Triangle Park saw the kickoff of the 2015 Lock Haven Summer Concert Series, the performers Biscuit Jam from State College.
Friday’s concert was the first of thirteen each Friday night at Triangle Park. Biscuit Jam entertained the opening night crowd with acoustic interpretations of classic rock favorites as well as traditional folk songs and Americana-flavored original compositions.
The Sunday night Corman Amphitheater series begins June 21 with local favorites Snug performing.
Next up at Triangle Park next Friday, June 12, will be Flashback, a versatile local band that plays a wide variety of rock music from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s plus the blues. Artists covered range from the Beatles to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers to various 60’s garage bands to B.B. King and other blues artists. The concert starts at 6 p.m.
Members are Mitch Cohen (drums), Brad Gibson (guitar), Steve Hauser (bass), Dean Hoffman (guitar) and Mike Yohe (guitar). The members of Flashback have played in various area bands since the 1960’s including: The Vibrations, Wheat, Rajah, American Standard, Prophet, The Henry-Tressler Band, Texas Twister, Teacher’s Pet, Eventide and several others. Playing live music and keeping it alive is a passion and a vocation for all of them.
The band is looking forward to playing at the Triangle Park this year and will also be performing at the Jersey Shore Town Meeting where they are headlining the 2015 event on Saturday, July 4th, and the Riverfest on Friday, July 10th.
