Wheel Chairs Sought for WWII Veterans

wea-flagLOCK HAVEN – “The World War II Express” is ready for its June 7 trip to Washington, D.C. but the two Central Mountain High School students organizing the event have a need for the loan of wheelchairs. The project will send 20 area World War II veterans to Washington for a daylong visit, stops at Arlington National Cemetery and the World War II Memorial. The trip has been organized by two Central Mountain juniors, Kevin Ackley and Kline Williams as their senior project. They have issued a call for wheelchairs so the veterans, ranging in age from 90 to 95, do not have to walk about during their visit. Those who can help are asked to call 570-660-2939.
