Carson, Cooper Lift Wildcats Over Mifflinburg
MIFFLINBURG – The Central Mountain boys soccer team picked up a solid road win Monday night, defeating Mifflinburg 2-0.
After a scoreless first half, the Wildcats broke through in the 57th minute. Cole Cooper flicked a ball forward to Mycah Carson, who buried a right-footed shot from the top of the box. It was Carson’s third goal of the season and Cooper’s second assist.
Just five minutes later, the Wildcats doubled their lead. Tim Brinker delivered a free kick from the right side of the box, finding Cooper at the back post for a header. The goal marked Cooper’s second of the year, while Brinker recorded his team-leading sixth assist.
In goal, Jaggar Pardoe turned away four shots to secure the shutout.
With the victory, Central Mountain improves to 6-4-2 on the season. The Wildcats return home Wednesday to host Lewisburg.
