Lady Wildcats Gain Experience Against Central Columbia

BLOOMSBURG-The Lady Wildcat soccer team faced one of the state’s top programs on Thursday night, traveling to take on perennial powerhouse Central Columbia falling 7-0. The matchup provided valuable experience for the young Wildcats, who at times had as many as eight freshmen on the field — a clear sign of the program’s commitment to player development.

From the opening whistle, Central Columbia pressed forward with heavy pressure, creating consistent threats in the box. Central Mountain defended with grit and physicality, but the home side eventually broke through to take control of the match.

In the second half, the Wildcats continued to battle in their defensive third. Goalkeeper Cora Seyler turned in a strong effort, making several key saves to hold Central Columbia to just one goal after halftime. Offensively, the Wildcats struggled to generate chances, but their determination and work rate never wavered.

While the result was not in their favor, the game offered critical growth opportunities for the young roster. Competing against one of the league’s and state’s most decorated programs is expected to pay dividends as the Wildcats’ underclassmen gain experience.
