Obituary – Evan Daniel Geisewite

Evan Daniel Geisewite, a man of God who spread joy and laughter wherever he went, died April 9, 2025 in a car accident.

Evan, 29, the son of Matthew and Angela Geisewite, was born March 24, 1996.  He spent five years happily married to the former Amanda Herr.  Evan was the father of two boys, Parker David and Boone Charles.

Evan graduated from Jersey Shore High School in 2014.  He played the coronet but loved playing percussion in the drumline.  His all-time favorite instructor was Blake Bergey.  Christmas music was always a favorite.  Evan would start listening to it in October… or even earlier.  He also graduated from C.P.I. where he earned a Class A CDL and learned to operate heavy equipment.  Evan and Amanda owned a small business, Rig and Dig, LLC.

Evan eagerly awaited the first snowfall that would be deep enough to allow for a jaunt on his snowmobile.  He cherished every minute of the tractor and ATV rides he shared with Parker.  All of these interests and activities paled, however, in comparison to his deep love for spending time with his wife, family, friends, children and raising Parker David as he taught him the ways of the Lord.

He was known for his warm, friendly smile and his heart for service.  As the testimonies of his life keep pouring in, we are only now realizing how wide-spread was the effect of his humbleness.  The far-reaching impact that Evan had is amazing.  Whether he was delivering uniforms for Cintas, buying an engagement ring for Amanda, mentoring youth at his church, hunting with friends or participating in tractor pulls, he brought that smile with him.  It made a lasting impression as he shared his joy and enthusiasm.

Surviving is his wife, Amanda Geisewite; son, Parker Geisewite; parents, Matthew and Angela Geisewite; brother, Lane Geisewite; grandmother, Nancy Klinefelter Shutt; grandfather, Kenneth Geisewite and his wife, Kim; and grandfather, Dave Mayes.  Also surviving are his uncles: Eric Mayes, Dan Geisewite and Mark Geisewite and his wife, Rhonda; aunt, Liz Geisewite and her husband, Matt Maley; Amanda’s parents, Bryan and Kelly Herr; and brother-in-law, Brandon Herr and his wife, Taylor.

Evan was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Karen Wolfe Geisewite.

A private viewing and interment will be held for the family.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 10 AM at Big Woods Bible Church, 241 S. Hanna St., Lock Haven, with a meal following.

Arrangements are under the direction of Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington.  Online condolences may be given by visiting www.donaldwalkerfuneralhome.com
