Central Mountain Boys Tennis Falls to Montoursville, 4-1
MILL HALL – The Central Mountain boys tennis team continued its early season stretch at home on Monday, falling to Montoursville Area by a 4-1 margin in a hard-fought match. With the loss, the Wildcats drop to 1-5 on the season.
The lone win for Central Mountain came at No. 1 singles, where Joey McCluskey delivered a strong performance, defeating his opponent in straight sets to earn the team’s only point of the afternoon.
Tim Brinker battled at No. 2 singles but was edged in a competitive match, while Wesley Cowart dropped his contest at the No. 3 spot.
In doubles action, the top team of Brayden Spedding and Mitchell Borges and the No. 2 pairing of Ben Brinker and Owen Stringfellow both came up short, as Montoursville swept the doubles portion of the match.
Despite the loss, the Wildcats continue to show effort and growth on the court as they navigate a competitive early-season schedule.
Central Mountain (1-5) will look to bounce back at home on Wednesday when they host Selinsgrove Area.
