Obituary – Kathleen Marshall

Kathleen Marshall (you probably knew her as Kate or Kitty)—social butterfly, Diet Pepsi connoisseur, fashionista, and perpetual snacker—entered eternal life on Saturday, March 22, 2025.

Her legacy is carried on by those closest to her, who have recently learned that they’ve all picked up perhaps her most notable trait of talking over everyone else.

Kitty loved to tell stories—to regale her youth with Lee, the love of her life, her family, and her friends. Stories of triumph, like when she successfully stole Lee from his date at the skating rink. Stories of folly, like when her dress was tucked into her panty hose all day at work. Stories of frivolity, like when she drank a Tom Collins, the single only alcoholic beverage of her life on a girls’ trip to NYC.

As the matriarch of the family, Kitty loved when people visited. Always with gallon Ziplock bags of pretzels, chips, cookies, and chocolates at the ready, she wouldn’t take “no” for an answer. Even if you literally said, “no.” Even if you had just eaten. The point is, no one ever left hungry. And for entertainment, she would invite you on the porch to watch people walk by on the dike, or catch an episode of The Price is Right… Or Lawrence Welk on Saturday night.

She wanted for nothing in this life—as Lee doted on her hand and foot. She never got her license, didn’t have to work (though she CHOSE to work at JC Penny for the deals), and filled her home with beautiful things that brought her joy.

Kitty was larger than life, and will be remembered as a bright, colorful light to all who were privileged to know her.

When Kitty took off for her family reunion in heaven (to see Lee and her daughter Vicki, who both preceded her in death), she left behind her son Terry Marshall and his wife Linda; son-in-law Chuck Bauman; and grandchildren and “adopted” grandchildren Kacie and Brett Meixel, Mandee and Chad McGregor, Shane Miller and Becky Proctor, Laurie Wright, and Kira and Rich Brandel; as well as many cherished great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at 4 P.M. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, PA 17745.

Friends and family will be received on Thursday for a time of visitation from 3 P.M. until the time of the service.

Private burial will take place at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.

In lieu of flowers, Kitty would prefer you call up someone you love and tell them how much they mean to you. And the family asks that you raise a Diet Pepsi or Tom Collins (whichever you prefer) in her memory.
