Obituary – Lucresia A. Batschelet
Lucresia A. Batschelet, 85, of Lock Haven, Pa, passed away on March 9, 2025 in Lock Haven.
Lucresia was born in Lock Haven to Sanford and Eleanor (Brickley) Yost, Sr. on August 4, 1939. She attended Lock Haven High School and graduated in 1957. In 1957, she married Rodney Batschelet, Sr, who preceded her in death on April 11, 2017.
She and Rod enjoyed going fishing together and Mt Pisgah State Park became a favorite angling spot. Together, they owned and operated a tackle shop in Sayre, Pa for a time. Lucresia was also an accomplished seamstress, sewing everything from jackets to jeans for her family to enjoy. She enjoyed planning and attending her HS Reunions and Alumni breakfasts. She was a member of the Dunnstown United Methodist Church and greatly valued the community there.
Lucresia is survived by two daughters, Leigh Ann Bracero, Robyn (Kevin) Lasater; two sons, Rodney ( Arlene) Batschelet, Jr., Shawn (Diane) Batschelet, a brother-in-law Duane (Donna) Batschelet and several nieces and nephews, nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, a son, Jeffrey L. Batschelet, and a brother and sister-in-law, Sanford and Donna Yost.
On behalf of our family, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all who provided support for Lucresia in her last months, especially her caregiver, Sue, who went above and beyond and made it possible for Lu to stay in her own home.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Dunnstown United Methodist Church at 59 Church Street, Lock Haven, PA 17745 on June 7, 2025 at 11 am with Pastor Jack Hocker of the church officiating. Friends and family are invited to join in a time of fellowship and refreshment immediately following the service.
