Water Line Break in East Renovo May Leave Residents Without Water Overnight

The Renovo Water Department has been called to Ponda Street in East Renovo for what appears to be a water line break on the street that connects Delaware and Schuylkill Ave. The Renovo Water Authority has concluded that the water main leak in East Renovo will require emergency repairs made overnight starting at around 8 p.m.

The water is running down Delaware Avenue and in the front of the homes along that street. The Renovo Borough Streets Department was on scene using melting agents to try and prevent an ice build that due to cold temperatures is already occurring as the water is running down the hill.

.The majority of residents living on Ponda Street and Schuylkill and Delaware Avenues will be without water during the fix, which is hoped to be completed in under two hours once the water is turned off. Smith Excavating and Construction are being called on scene in hopes of expediting the situation. In addition to contacting The Record Online, Renovo Fire Department is being asked to make announcements from a fire engine.
