Water Main Break Leaves Renovo Residents Without Service, Repairs Continue

RENOVO — A water main break in sub-freezing temperatures left residents of Brewery Run and Drurys Run without water for most of the day on Wednesday. The Renovo Water Department, with assistance from Smith Excavating & Construction, braved the cold to complete a temporary repair.
Permanent repairs are scheduled for Thursday, which will result in another water service interruption for several hours.
The break was attributed to years of shifting earth, which caused a rock beneath the pipe to create a slit in the line.
The damaged section of the water line is located parallel to Route 120, between Renovo and Drurys Run, on the Susquehanna River side of the road.
