Wildcats Stuff Shik – Heverly Throws a One-Hitter

cm-baseballMILL HALL —The Central Mountain baseball team showed no ill effects from a weather-induced 10-day layoff.

The Wildcats finally got back on the field Monday and put together a solid 10-0 six inning win over Shikellamy, highlighted by a no-hitter from senior right-hander Kenny Heverly.

The Braves were overmatched against Heverly who mixed his pitches well to catcher Isaac Porter and was in command the entire game. Heverly went all six innings, striking out six and walking two; one Brave reached base on a well executed bunt down the third base stripe but otherwise the visitors never threatened as Heverly threw 79 pitches.

Offensively the Wildcats spread around nine hits, led by Porter’s two doubles and an RBI. Other hits came from Talon Falls, Toner Corl, Wyatt Koch, Dylan Kerstetter, Cole Reeder and Clayton Butler (with two RBIs) while Caleb Seyler added a triple. Coach Mike Kramer was able to work 18 different players into the contest.

Central Mountain moved to 2-0-1 on the year and now the schedule gets busy, including a home game Wednesday of this week against Mifflinburg and a Friday trip to Milton.
