LOCK HAVEN – The STEP, Inc. Office of Aging is accepting registrations for “Living a Healthy Life,” a six-week workshop to help improve health for those living with chronic conditions including diabetes, heart disease, COPD, and arthritis.

The workshop, designed by Stanford University, will be held at the STEP Office of Aging Renovo Senior Community Center, 415 Fourth Street, South Renovo (South Renovo Fire Hall) from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the following Mondays: April 20 and 27, May 4, 11, 18, and June 1.

The chronic disease self-management workshop, developed for those age 50 and older, is designed to help improve healthy behavior and health status and decrease days spent in the hospital. The program encourages participants to take control of their health and their lives by positively managing their conditions.

The workshop is being offered by the STEP Office of Aging at no charge and includes use of all course materials including the textbook Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions. Spouses and caregivers are also invited to participate.

Class size for the workshop is limited and pre-registration for the six-week series is required by April 13. People can pre-register by contacting the Renovo Senior Community Center at 570-923-2525.
