Lady Wildcat Soccer Falls to Lewisburg Saturday
LEWISBURG – In their second non-conference matchup of the season, the Central Mountain Lady Wildcats faced a tough test on the road against Lewisburg, a former conference rival that now competes in PHAC II. Despite an encouraging start, the Lady Wildcats fell 11-0 to the Lady Green Dragons on Saturday, September 7.
Starting the game without two experienced varsity players, the Lady Wildcats were forced to adjust their lineup. For the first portion of the match, both teams traded possession in the midfield, with neither side giving much ground. However, with nearly half of the first period elapsed, Lewisburg capitalized on an opportunity to take the lead, and from that moment, they never looked back.
The Lady Green Dragons were relentless in their attack, showing no mercy as they continued to press forward and find the back of the net. By halftime, they had already built a 7-0 lead, and their dominance carried over into the second half with four additional goals. The Lady Wildcats fought hard but were ultimately outmatched by the home team’s offensive onslaught.
With this defeat behind them, the Lady Wildcats quickly shifted their focus to their upcoming divisional conference opener. They’ll look to bounce back as they host Danville on Monday in their first home match of the season.
