Central Mountain Boys Soccer Wins 2024 Matt Kramer Memorial Tournament
BROOKEVILLE-The Central Mountain boys soccer team continued their dominant start to the season by defeating Clearfield 3-0 on Saturday to capture the championship of the 2024 Matt Kramer Memorial Tournament in Brookville. The Wildcats showcased both offensive precision and defensive resilience, earning their second shutout victory in as many days.
Griffin Confer opened the scoring for Central Mountain with a goal in the 15th minute, giving the Wildcats a 1-0 lead at halftime. The team maintained their momentum in the second half, adding two more goals to secure the win. Senior Lincoln Breon found the back of the net early in the half, assisted by Dylan Bechdel, while Isaiah Brinker added an insurance goal to seal the 3-0 victory.
Goalkeeper Jaggar Pardoe was a stalwart in net, making seven crucial saves to earn his second shutout of the season.
With two convincing wins under their belt, Central Mountain now turns their attention to their next challenge, an away game against South Williamsport on Wednesday. The Wildcats will look to continue their strong form as they aim to build on their early season success.
