Obituary – Shirley J. Fairman
Shirley J. Fairman, age 95 of DuBois, PA died Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at The Fountains at DuBois.
Born on October 25, 1928 in Bitumen, PA, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Cora Belle (Sommerson) Nesman
She married Ernest E. Fairman. He preceded her in death in 1982.
Shirley was a lifelong member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, first Tamarack and then in DuBois. She was very active in missionary work , both here and abroad. Shirley raised African violets, was an avid knitter, loved crocheting, and enjoyed working in her garden. Above all, she was a very loving mother who cared deeply for her family.
Shirley is survived by her children (Ernest “Pete” Fairman and Mark Fairman and his wife Debra, both of DuBois, PA, Brenda Grossman of Las Vegas, NV, and Carol Fairman of Columbia, SC), numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren, and one step great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by three brothers (Harry, Herb, and Howard Nesman), and one sister (Betty Hayes).
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 25, 2024 from 2 – 4 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 26, 2024 at 11 AM from the funeral home with Pastor Bruce Ward officiating.
Burial will take place in Morningside Cemetery.
