LHU Men’s Soccer announces recruiting class

LOCK HAVEN – Lock Haven head men’s soccer coach Patrick Long ’08 and the Bald Eagles are excited to announce the addition of 11 student-athletes as part of the 2024 recruiting class.

The future Bald Eagles have all either signed a National Letter of Intent to compete at The Haven, or have been accepted and/or are enrolled at Lock Haven. The group will officially join The Haven soccer family in the coming weeks when the team reports to campus for preseason training camp.

With the 2024 season fast approaching, Coach Long is excited about this new group of players.

“We are excited to announce the ’24 Bald Eagle soccer recruiting class,” Long said. “The group of 11 replaces a talented group from ’23 and we anticipate a strong impact from the newcomers in all three phases; academic, athletic, and community. Lots of credit to Coach Tackett and his diligent work as we pieced together this important class. Also, would like to extend appreciation to our loyal and well-connected alumni group that assisted with putting some of these players on our radar. The ’24 season is fast-approaching and we look forward to welcoming these talented student-athletes to the Haven.”

Coach has put a lot of faith into me which also made me and my family feel comfortable coming to lock haven as I would be taken care off in good hands. Coach Tackett has was also great to talk too like Coach Long was too, and when he gave me a virtual tour and showed me the great facilities, which were just as impressive as both them as people, I was sold. Them being a great coaching team and better people was the main factor for me committing here. This was all confirmed when I met the team in person when I watched the team play during their UK tour, which showed me the high level the team plays at. Meeting the team and in particular Coach Long and Coach Tackett was nice for me and my family as we saw they are just as if not more impressive in person as they have been over the phone.
