Obituary – Genevieve Madeline Bressler (Harris)
Genevieve Madeline Bressler (Harris), age 96, of Haven Place in Lock Haven Pennsylvania, formerly of Renovo Pennsylvania, went to be with her loving Savior peacefully on July 17, 2024.
Genevieve was born on July 22, 1927, in Hollywood California and was the daughter of the late Edward and Genevieve Harris. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eugene Bressler, of over 46 years, and her devoted daughter, Donna Jean Clemente, her great granddaughter Mallorie Renee Kohler, her brother Edward Harris and niece JoEllen Lynott.
She is survived by her devoted daughter Susan Meyers (Bressler) of Renovo, son Stevie Bressler of Zion, son-in-law Tom Clemente, grandson Joel Kohler and wife Jan of Huntingdon, Joshua Clemente and wife Stacey of Tyrone, granddaughter Tiffany Clemente Brushwood and husband Brian of State College, great grandchildren Addison Clemente and Cody, Tyler Clemente, Brody Kohler, Abigail, Cooper and Aaron Brushwood, great-great grandson Jameson Wentworth. Her brother-in-law David and wife Linda, several nieces and nephews. She was affectionately known by her family as “Nan B.”
Genevieve, known as Jeannie, was a telephone operator in California before moving to Sugar Valley, Pennsylvania to start her family then moving to Renovo in 1959. Jeannie worked at Bobbi Brooks and Jean’s Restaurant, but her most passionate and rewarding job was being a wife, mother and homemaker.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in North Bend and was a tireless volunteer for the following organizations: President of the PTA, Girl Scout Leader, Flaming Foliage Committee, Francis Nihart Committee, Community Choir, Heavenly Racks (19 years). She was also in the YMCA Bowling League. Her hobbies included playing cards with her friend of over 60 years, Patt Lundfelt, crocheting, reading the Bible, and watching Penn State Football games of which she was an avid fan. She was always giving of her time and resources to help others. She was the last living parent of the Class of 1969.
Jeannie was known as a SWEETHEART, a loving person who always made friends. She had a smile and kind words for everyone she knew or met. She always professed her love for the Lord, a true woman of faith. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Services for her Celebration of Life will be Monday, July 22, 2024 (her 97th Birthday) at the First United Methodist Church, 127 Seventh Street, Renovo. Visitation at 1:00 pm and services at 2:00 pm. Martha Sykes will officiate.
Burial will be at North Bend Cemetery.
