Go Joe kicks off Monday morning from Lockport Boat Launch

LOCK HAVEN – Regional weather royalty Joe Snedeker of WNEP-16/Newswatch 16 was in town Sunday evening taking in the sights and sounds of a good ol’ Lock Haven summer evening on the river.

Hailed as “Go Joe 27,” the regional meteorologist will kick off his “Inflate and Donate” charity bike ride Monday morning at the Woodward Township Boat Launch.

All proceeds will be donated to St. Joseph’s Center in Scranton, an organization that provides individuals and families who have special needs the opportunity to develop their abilities and potential to the fullest extent possible.

With a 5 a.m. live broadcast kick off from the Lockport Boat Launch, Snedeker will be on the air remotely with his colleagues back in the station in Moosic until 8 or 8:30 a.m.

Avenue Coffee will have their mobile coffee trailer parked at the boat launch to provide that morning jolt, and JB’s Festie Foods will be offering breakfast egg rolls, hash browns, and their unique “Pierogi Joe” eggroll. As well, enter to win a 2-seat ATV “rental for a day” from Quiet Oaks Campground and swag from Rachel K Creations.

With an early morning forecast of between 63 and 67 degrees under partly cloudy skies, pack a hoodie or long sleeve shirt if you intend on putting up a chair and staying a while.
