Clinton 8-10 Softball Team Falls to Selinsgrove in Sectional Championship

MILL HALL – The Clinton 8-10 Softball team fought valiantly through the bracket after an initial loss to Selinsgrove in Sectional play. Heading into the championship, they knew they had to defeat the undefeated Selinsgrove team twice. Ultimately, Selinsgrove showcased their dominance, defeating Clinton 19-9.

Selinsgrove started strong, scoring five runs in the first inning. Clinton responded with two runs in the first, four in the second, and two in the third. However, Selinsgrove continued their offensive surge, adding five runs in the third, three in the fourth, four in the fifth, and two in the sixth. Despite Clinton’s efforts to rally, they were unable to regain momentum.

Clinton concludes a remarkable season, highlighted by a District 12 Championship. With the 19-9 victory, Selinsgrove advances to the state tournament.
