Downtown Rotary Feeds the Hungry

LOCK HAVEN — We are lucky to live in a place that cares for the less fortunate. The Rotary Club of Downtown Lock Haven has done its part over the years, including giving to local food programs.

The Rotarians recently gave more than $200 worth of food, personal care products, and cash to Merit House, the overnight men’s shelter in Lock Haven. The club has named Merit House one of its favorite charities and has held a number of collections for the shelter.

Haven Cupboard is also a club favorite. This food program serves students of Commonwealth University — Lock Haven who need a boost to make ends meet. The Rotarians recently toured the Haven Cupboard facility on East Campus.

The club meets Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m., gathering at 5:15, in the Poorman Gallery, 352 E. Water St. For information about Rotary or how to join, send an email to dlhrotary@gmail.com or find “Rotary Club of Downtown Lock Haven” on Facebook.
