PennDOT Announces Start of Clinton County Bridge Project

CLEARFIELD – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced a start date of Monday, April 29, for a rehabilitation project on two bridges along Route 220 in Castanea Township in Clinton County. The overpass bridges span Lower Creek Road at mile marker 112 of Route 220.  This work will improve the overall condition and safety of the structures and improve ride quality for motorists.

The contractor will rehabilitate piers and beams on the two bridges and reseal joints, along with performing miscellaneous construction work.

PennDOT will implement a single-lane closure on 220 North-bound in late July/early August for one day only. Self-regulated stop signs will be in place beneath the bridges on Lower Creek Road to provide traffic control for single-lane closures.

Rylind Construction of Muncy, PA, is the contractor on this $771,000 project. PennDOT anticipates completion in September, but all work is weather dependent.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.

511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following local alerts on X.
