Obituary – Amber E. Eisemann
Amber E. Eisemann, 95, formally of Mill Hall, passed peacefully in State College, Pa on April 7, 2024. Born October 28, 1928 in Lock Haven, she was a 1946 graduate of Jersey Shore High School. Having lost her mother, Isabella Shope, at the age of 12 to TB she was raised in Jersey Shore by her grandparents Orlando and Anna Johnstonbaugh.
Married in 1949 to Fred R. Eisemann, Amber worked tirelessly along with her husband, who preceded her in death in 1985, as owners of Eisemann Jewelers in downtown Lock Haven. Amber wore many hats in running the store – salesperson, bookkeeper, store decorator, and buyer. Many customers remember her fondly for helping them make their jewelry, china and glassware selections.
After retiring, she took up golf and was on the garden committee at Clinton Country Club where she played until her early 80’s. She was an avid reader and bridge player and thoroughly enjoyed weekly lunch outings followed by bridge with her close friends. Amber was also a member of the Knotty Knitters club where she would knit hats, scarves and baby blankets for those in need.
More than anything, Amber exhibited a lifetime of selfless devotion to her family. She is survived by her sons, Scott Eisemann, Lock Haven, Curtis Eisemann (Maryann), Jacksonville Fl., and daughters Lynne Curtin (John), Mingoville, Pa. and Margaret Eisemann, Weaverville, N.C., seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Donations in the memory of Amber can be made to the Ross library.
Services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Gedon Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Lock Haven.
