Weather Forces Schedule Change for Flemington Bridge Paving

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that the heavy rainfall this week has delayed final paving operations at the Flemington Bridge along Route 150 near Lock Haven by one day. Work to preserve this bridge, which spans Bald Eagle Creek in Bald Eagle Township, started in June 2023 and will improve the overall condition rating of the structure from fair to good.

The contractor planned to begin milling the roadway at the bridge today, but the recent weather forced a delay. It will now mill the roadway tomorrow and pave Monday, April 8. Flaggers in the roadway will provide traffic control during daylight hours on Friday and Monday. The work remains weather dependent.

Upon completion, placing an epoxy overlay treatment over the bridge surface will be the last work remaining on this contract. PennDOT anticipates this work to take place sometime in May and will issue an update before the contractor starts that work.

Two other structures saw work under this contract. One is a Route 150 bridge spanning Chatham Run in Dunnstable Township. The other is a Route 220 bridge spanning Route 2006 and Fishing Creek in Lamar Township. Work on those bridges is complete.

HRI, Inc. of State College, PA, is the contractor for this $3.5 million job
