Obituary – Donald Earl Freeberg

Donald Earl Freeberg (Don), of Westville, New Jersey passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024. He was 92.

Don was a graduate of Renovo High School and  was proud to have served his country as a Senior Radio Operator in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company in Philadelphia for many years as a manager. Don enjoyed walking every day, either outside or on his treadmill, crossword puzzles and fishing, especially with his sons. He was an avid reader and never missed Jeopardy. He was a lifelong Penn State football fan, Philadelphia Phillies, and Eagles fan. He always enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Don was born in Renovo, Pennsylvania to the late Charles A. Freeberg, Sr. and Susan Freeberg Bish (nee Yale). Don is survived by his sister, Audrey (John) Perry. Don is also survived by his children Dawn (Sam) Green of West Deptford and Matthew Freeberg of Westville; daughter-in-law Carolyn (nee Bennett) Freeberg; grandchildren Janette (Eric) Sailor, Amy Freeberg (Jake Sims), Jessica Freeberg, and Eric Freeberg (Charrli Genovese), Katie Freeberg-Barfield (Marc) and Megan Freeberg, and great grandchildren Jade Freeberg, Rylee and Raina Barfield, and many nieces, and nephews. Also, predeceased by his brothers Charles A., Jr., Grover, Robert and Paul, his previous wife Nancy (nee Rollman) Freeberg, sons Kyle, Sr., Kurt, grandson Kyle Jr., and his longtime friend, Caroline Henry.

Relatives and friends attended his celebration of life service on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Memorial Presbyterian Church, 202 E. Mantua Avenue, Wenonah, NJ. 

Don will be laid to rest at the Indiantown Gap National Military Cemetery on a future date yet to be announced. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Presbyterian Church, 202 E. Mantua Avenue, Wenonah, NJ, 08090.
