Therese Hollen announces candidacy for State Representative in 82nd Legislative District

My name is Therese Hollen and I’m running for State Representative in the 82nd legislative district.  My husband and I moved to Centre County to begin a new chapter of life in a beautifully vibrant  community that blends urban and rural. Our community faces challenges on numerous fronts  overlooked and ignored by Harrisburg. Our communities, our way of life, and our Commonwealth  deserve far more than the status quo. We the People deserve better. 

The people of Centre County and Pennsylvania have the right to a legislature that works for them.  We are at a critical juncture for the future of our state and nation. Currently, the Pennsylvania  House of Representatives is not doing the job Pennsylvanians elected them to do. Every single  representative should be Prioritizing Pennsylvanians, unfortunately that is not today’s reality.  Partisan politics keeps the legislature in deadlock while a democratic majority demonstrates a  dereliction of duty… hiding behind a leak in the roof of the Capitol. 

Residents of Centre County are hurting because of an economy that does not work for them. They  are worried about crime that is migrating out of cities into our rural communities. Additionally, they are concerned for the future Pennsylvania can offer their children and grandchildren.  

As your representative I will fight tooth and nail to provide a brighter future for all Pennsylvanians.  A future where we are safe from violent crime and safe to walk our streets. A future where our  first responders are supported to strengthen and protect our communities. A future where  education opens opportunities for our children. A future where families do not need to choose  between groceries and medicine. A future where fixed incomes are not jeopardized by reckless  government spending. A future where businesses can flourish and prosper. A future where energy  is abundant, efficient, and clean. A future where our farmers can feed our communities. Most  importantly, a future that secures our constitutional rights to the blessings of life, liberty, and  pursuit of happiness. 

This race is the Key to the Keystone State. This November, right here in Centre County, do you  want to continue with our dismissive legislature or be the change Pennsylvania deserves? This  November you can be the change Pennsylvania needs when you go to the polls.
