Wildcats Lead PHAC Wrestling with 12 All-Stars

Buckwalter Selected PHAC Coach of the Year

LOCK HAVEN – The Pennsylvania Heartland Athletic Conference has released the all-star selections for the 2014-15 wrestling season.

It’s no surprise that the honorees is a who’s who of the recent participants at the PIAA NW Regional tournament with many qualifying for a trip to Hershey for the state championships later this week.

Central Mountain led the way with a total of 12 wrestlers earning all-star status with six each on the first team and second team rosters. Following closely was Jersey Shore with 7 wrestlers honored, 4 first team selections and 3 on the second squad.

The Wildcats were undefeated in conference action with a record of 7-0 closely followed by the Bulldogs at 6-1 with their only conference loss coming at the hands of CM.

For Central Mountain, Geo Barzona (106), Keanan Bottorf (120), Emery Watson (138), Gavin Caprio (170), Loc Long (195) and Bryce Hanley (285) made the first team listing. Seth Andrus (113), Chris Confer (126), Colton Weaver (132), Demetri Probst (152), Caleb Turner (160) and Hunter Weaver (220) were elected to the second team.

Representing Jersey Shore with first team stats were: Hunter Zondory (113), Noah Ulmer (138), Haydn Swartwood (152) and Dominic Loffredo (195). On the second squad for the Bulldogs were: Allen Saar (132), Max Mason (182), and Jake Huling (220).

Central Mountain head coach, Doug Buckwalter, was honored once more this season as he was selected PHAC Wrestling Coach of the Year in this, his inaugural season in the conference.
