Obituary – Clair Finley Overturf, Jr.

Clair Finley Overturf, Jr., 92, of Renovo Rd., Mill Hall passed away Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born November 4, 1931 in Grant, he was a son of the late Clair F. and Harriet (Sexton) Overturf, Sr.

Clair graduated from Benezette High School and was then drafted in the Military, serving during the Korean Conflict.

He began working in the gas line industry as a supervisor, bringing him to the Lock Haven area in 1982.

Clair shared 13 years of marriage with his love, Sandra H. (Hardie) Overdurf.

He was the oldest member of the Free & Accepted Masons, Driftwood-Emporium Lodge, 532 where he served as Past Master in 1963 and again in 1980.

Clair was a master woodworker who made over 25 Grandfather Clocks as well as numerous pieces of furniture.

He was an avid reader, especially enjoying history and western books.

Clair loved to travel.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a brother, William Overturf of Florida and a sister, Ruth Ann Fye of Florida.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Private services will be held at his family’s convenience.
