LADY WILDCATS IN FIRST WRESTLING DISTRICTS

JOHNSTOWN- The Central Mountain Girls Wrestling squad will head to the campus of the University of Pitt-Johnstown this Saturday to participate in the first PIAA sanctioned District championships. There will be girls from teams that are from Districts 5,6 and 9.
The girls tournament will be run alongside the boys District 5 Class AA tournament, with girls action getting started with championship quarterfinals at 10:30 am, right after the boys opening round that starts at 10 am. Consolations will be at 11:00am with championship semifinals to follow. The Parade of champions will be at 5:15 pm, with the championship finals for both the boys and girls to start at 5:30 pm.
The top six place winners at each weight will advance to the PIAA Central Regional Tournament to be held at the Milton High School on March 2, with the top four place winners advancing to the PIAA state tournament to be held March 9 at the Hershey Giant Center with the boys state tournament.
The eight Lady Wildcats seeding at each weight finds sophomores Kendall Wagner (170) and Ashlynn Miller (235) both receiving second seeds. Freshman Austynn Falls (136) received a third seed, while sophomore Emma Scasrborough-Perez (112) and senior Sophie Mitchell (155) both are seeded fourth. Sophomore Kennedy Metzger (130) and sophomore Callie Cella (190) are both fifth seeded at their weight class, while sophomore Sophia Hoy (142) is seventh seeded.
