Fatool’s 38 help end Lady Wildcats season in 69-28 loss at Shikellamy

By Bees O’Brien

SUBURY- Lily Fatool may be one of the most dangerous scorers in all of District 4/6. On Tuesday night Fatool and her Lady Braves would put on a clinic against visiting Central Mountain in the 5A District 4/6 subregional semifinals. Fatool would net a game-high 38 points and Shikellamy’s huge 45-12 halftime lead would be more than enough to keep their season rolling, while the Lady Wildcats would see their season end in a 69-28 loss.

The previous two meetings were each only decided by 2 points, but Shikellamy’s 19-8 first quarter and a huge 26-4 second quarter would decide the outcome early.

Fatool would score 18 points in that deciding second quarter alone.

A 26-16 Shikellamy second half would set the stage for the final score.

Blair Balestrini had 16 for the Braves, while Nadia Smith added 10.

Lena Walker led Central Mountain with 13 points.

Central Mountain ends its season at 9-14. Shikellamy improved to 17-6 and will now await the winner of the Hollidaysburg and Selinsgrove semifinal game.
