LHU Men’s Basketball extends win streak with important road win at Shepherd

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – The Lock Haven men’s basketball team put on a surge midway through the second half and the Bald Eagles never looked back as they cruised to an important, 60-49, late-season Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division win today (Saturday, Feb. 17) on the road at Shepherd University (10-14, 7-12 PSAC).

With the win, Lock Haven improved to 17-6 overall and 15-3 in PSAC play. The victory, the fourth straight for the Bald Eagles, helped them improve to an impressive 8-4 on the road this season.

The victory and 15-3 mark in PSAC play keeps The Haven in a three-way for first in the PSAC Eastern Division standings with East Stroudsburg and Millersville.

Leading the way today for the Bald Eagles was Isaiah Stewart (Madison, Wisc./Madison La Follette) who scored a game-high 19 points. He knocked down four 3’s and added seven rebounds.

Justice Shoats (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Holy Redeemer) turned in another dynamic performance and finished with 17 points, four assists and two steals.

Jalen Gorham (York, Pa./MacDuffie School) added seven points and eight rebounds, and Dyson Harward (Danville, Pa./Danville Area) netted seven points to go along with six boards.

Lock Haven held a 42-33 advantage in rebounds on the night.

The Bald Eagles finished the game with nine total 3-pointers, 18 points in the paint and they shot 47 percent from the field for the game.

The Bald Eagles will return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 7:30 p.m. when the travel to Mansfield for another important late-season PSAC East clash.
