Obituary – Beatrice Ann Brungard Peter

Beatrice Ann Brungard Peter, 80, of Beech Creek went home to Jesus on Friday, February 2, 2024, at Williamsport UPMC surrounded by her family.

Born on January 1, 1944, in Lock Haven Hospital, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Betty Elizabeth Brungard (who died during childbirth) and Caroline Brungard.

Ann was a 1961 graduate of Bald Eagle Nittany High School and then went on to study music and religion at the Cincinnati Bible Seminary.

She was devoted to her loving husband, Leroy William Peter, Jr. for 60 wonderful years.

Ann retired after 36 years from Lock Haven University with Emeritus status. While there, she was a Tri-Sigma advisor and the Statistician for Men’s and Women’s Basketball programs. Earlier in life, she was employed by American Color and Piper Aircraft.

She was a member of the Blanchard Church of Christ in Blanchard.

Ann will forever leave a legacy of the importance of love and family. She was known as Grammy Sweets to her Grandchildren and loved cheering them on in their endeavors. To the basketball community, she was known as Mama P. because she treated everyone like they were her own. She cherished spending time with the Red Hats and cruising the world with her friends. Her greatest attribute was her devotion to the Lord.

Surviving are her three children: Eric Peter (Deb) of East Stroudsburg, Kristy Hendricks (Brandon) of Blanchard, and Rebecca Peter (Hayley) of Syracuse, NY; one brother, Ralph Brungard, Jr. (Karen); two sisters-in-law, Audrey Kellander (Bob), and Sharon Brungard; brother-in-law, Steven Peters (Letty); four grandchildren, Garrett and Lily Hendricks and Bella and Liam Peter; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert, William, Frank, and Larry Brungard, and brother-in-law Ronald Peters.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 7th at 11:00 a.m. at the Blanchard Church of Christ, 161 Beach Street, Blanchard, PA. The interment will be in the Rest Haven Memorial Park at the convenience of the family.

Friends and family will be received at the church on Wednesday, February 7th from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 am before the start of the service. Memorial contributions can be made to the Blanchard Church of Christ.
