Obituary – Harry T. Wenker
Harry T. Wenker, 89, of Lock Haven, Pa , passed away on Thursday, January 25th 2024 at Haven Skilled Rehabilitation and Nursing Home, in Lock Haven.
Harry was born in Lockport, Pa to Willis H. and Harriet (Kriegh) Wenker on October 18th 1934.
He graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1953 and went on to serve in the Army. Harry was a member of the Lock Haven United Evangelical Lutheran Church, LaFayette Lodge # 199 Free and Accepted Masons. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, PSU fan and greatly enjoyed spending time at camp and in the outdoors. He worked for the maintenance department at the Lock Haven Hospital, retiring in 1996.
Harry is survived by a son, Douglas T. Wenker of Lock Haven; a sister, Ida F. “Judy” Cross of Yorktown, Va along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Patrica Guild of Camp Hill, Pa.
On June 20th 1964 he married the former Margaret Stiles who preceded him in death on June, 12th, 2023.
A funeral service will be held at the Gedon Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC 121 West Main St. Lock Haven Pa. 17745 on Tuesday, January 30 at 11am with Pastor Karl W. Runser officiating. A Masonic Service will be held at 10:45 am. Family and friends will be received 1 hour prior to the service.
Burial will take place at North Bend Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the United Evangelical Lutheran Church, 104 W. Church St. Lock Haven, PA, 17745. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to UPMC Haven Place and Hospice.
