Obituary – Ruby Elizabeth Nihart
Ruby Elizabeth Nihart, 97, a resident at Eagle Valley Personal Care Home, Milesburg and formerly of Lamar, passed away Monday, January 8, 2024.
Born December 5, 1926 in Tylersville, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Elizabeth (Klinefelter) Kramer.
Ruby was a 1945 graduate of Mill Hall High School.
On December 24, 1947, she married Daryl Miller Nihart, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage before his passing in 2000.
Ruby was an antique collector and dealer. Affectionately known as the “Route 64 Antique Lady,” she began selling antiques from her home in the 1960s and continuing to do so until recently. She also had a stand at the Bellefonte Plaza.
She loved reading and bingo.
Surviving are her sons: David W. (Linda) Nihart of Lamar and Charles (Cindy) Nihart of Beech Creek; four grandchildren: Nicole (Luke) Ebeling, David C. (Katie) Nihart, Jodie (Andy) Wertz and Lee (Marcy) Henninger; and seven great grandchildren.
Along with her parents, husband and several step-siblings, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Darlene Brush and a granddaughter, Shawna Loveless-Morison.
Services will be held at the convenience of her family. Inurnment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mill Hall.
