Wildcat Wrestling heads to Mid-Winter Mayhem Tournament

INDIANA- The Central Mountain Wildcat wrestlers will be in action on Friday and Saturday at the 57-team Mid-Winter Mayhem Tournament at the Kovalchick Convention Complex on the campus of Indiana of PA (IUP).
The Wildcats eight wrestlers seeded in the tournament, as Dalton Perry (139), 6-1 record and Griffin Walizer (145), 13-4, leading the way with second seeds. Rocco Serafini (215, 14-3) is seeded third, while Jacob Weaver (172, 13-8) is seeded sixth. Aiden Kunes (121, 15-5), Bryce Brungard (189, 14-7) and Giovanni Tarantella (285, 12-6 ) all received seventh seeds, while Gavin Heverly (12-5) was seeded 11th at 107.
The rest of the Wildcat line-up is Caden Stoner (114, 3-6), Patrick Tarantella (127, 9-7), Carnell Noone (139, 8-4), Hunter Donley (160, 9-7), Dalton McDermott (160, 0-0) and Jacob Nyman (172, 4-4). Noone, McDermott and Nyman will be the non-scoring wrestlers in the line-up. Wildcat standout Luke Simcox will be out of the Wildcat line-up, as they are electing to rest him as he is recovering from a minor injury.
The 57-teams participating are: Bald Eagle Area, Benton, Berlin Brothers Valley, Bishop McCort, Brockway, Brookville, Butler, Canton, Cedar Cliff, Central Cambria, Chestnut Ridge, Clearfield, Commodore Perry, Cranberry, Curwensville, Danville, DuBois, Emmaus, Ephrata, Erie McDowell, Forest Hills, Fort LeBoeuf, Franklin Regional, Freedom Area, General McLane, Greenville, Hickory, Hollidaysburg, Hughesville, Johnsonburg, Kiski Area, LaSalle, Line Mountain, Marion Center, Mid Valley, Montgomery, Mount Union, North East, North Star, Northern Lebanon, Parkland, Penn Cambria, Penn Trafford, Plum, Pocono Mountain East, Radno, Richland, Scranton, Shippensburg, St. Marys, Sullivan County, Thomas Jefferson, Trinity, West Allegheny, West Chester Rustin and West Scranton.
Class AA powerhouse Bishop McCort has three top seeds in Jax Forrest (127, 20-1), Bo Bassett (139, 23-0) and Melvin Miller (152, 24-2). The Montgomery Red Raiders also have three top seeds in Brandt Harer (133, 22-0), Connor Harer (160, 22-0) and Caden Finck (189, 19-2). Seeded first at 145 is Maddox Shaw (18-3) of Thomas Jefferson, who lost to Simcox in the Powerade semifinals.
