Ashlyn Miller takes Fourth at Girls; Powerade Wrestling Tournament
CANONSBURG, PA – On a busy holiday week, the Central Mountain Lady Wildcats Wrestling team kicked off the action at the Girls; Powerade Tournament held at Canon-McMillan High School. Ashlyn Miller led the team picking up a strong 4th place finish.
Ashlyn went 2-2 on the day at 235 with two falls. She got things started with a fall against Jaidyn Sykes (Curwensville) at 1:42. In the second round she fell to Zoey Murphy of Southmoreland at 0:49. Next she would battle back in the consolation bracket and pick up another fall over Keiarra Leonard of Norwin at 2:53. Finally in the third place bout she fell to Isabella Spotti of Fort Cherry at 0:14.
Lady Wildcats’ Emma Scarborough-Perez, Austynn Falls and Ellen Banfill picked up multiple wins at the growing girls’ tournament.
The highly competitive high school boys tournament will kick off Friday and Saturday this week. The Record will be releasing a preview of those bouts and providing updates throughout the weekend on therecord-online.com.
Canon-McMillan ran away with the girls team title with 154.5 points. The Lady Wildcats placed 22nd out of 41 teams with 33 points.
