PLCB Warns Customers Fine Wine & Good Spirits NOT Affiliated With OneStopBourbons.Com

HARRISBURG, PA– The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) Wednesday cautioned customers that while the website OneStopBourbons.com identifies its address in the “Contact” section of its website as 5956 Centre Ave. in Pittsburgh, where a Fine Wine & Good Spirits store is located, the website is not associated with Fine Wine & Good Spirits, FWGS.com, or the PLCB.

The PLCB began receiving complaints about this misrepresentation over the summer, but inquiries to the Center Avenue store about the legitimacy of the website have increased as the holiday season approaches. The PLCB also received complaints from customers who claim to have placed orders on the site and paid for product that was never delivered.

Pennsylvanians are reminded that only certain licensed distilleries are permitted to sell and ship liquor to Pennsylvania residents, and the PLCB is the only retailer authorized to sell liquor in Pennsylvania. Additionally, only the PLCB and holders of sacramental wine licenses, importers licenses, and direct wine shipper licenses are permitted by law to import alcohol into Pennsylvania.

Customers are also encouraged to seek out and consider reviews of websites before placing orders to help determine a website’s legitimacy and reliability.

Violations of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code are enforced by the Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement (BLCE).

The PLCB regulates the distribution of beverage alcohol in Pennsylvania, operates about 600 wine and spirits stores statewide, and licenses 20,000 alcohol producers, retailers, and handlers. The PLCB also works to reduce and prevent dangerous and underage drinking through partnerships with schools, community groups, and licensees. Taxes and store profits – totaling nearly $20.3 billion since the agency’s inception – are returned to Pennsylvania’s General Fund, which finances Pennsylvania’s schools, health and human services programs, law enforcement, and public safety initiatives, among other important public services. The PLCB also provides financial support for the Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement, the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs, other state agencies, and local municipalities across the state.
