No. 23 Henson named MAC East Wrestler of the Week
CLEVELAND – No. 23 Wyatt Henson (Waynesburg, Pa./Waynesburg) of the nationally-ranked Lock Haven men’s wrestling team has been named the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Eastern Division Athlete of the Week (Nov. 21).
The Bald Eagles bring home the Mac East Wrestler of the Week for the second straight week.
Competing unattached at Millersville’s Shorty Hitchcock Classic on Saturday, Nov. 18, nationally-ranked Henson soared to the 141-pound title.
Ranked No. 23 in the nation, Henson was a perfect 4-0 with two pins.
He opened the day with an early second-period pin, knocked off the top-seed in the quarterfinals and he pinned the No. 3 seed – DJ Chavis of Virginia Tech in just 2:11 in the finals to cap off a dominant outing.
