Bald Eagles land three on CSC Men’s Soccer Academic All-District Team

GREENWOOD, IND– Lock Haven men’s soccer student-athletes Duc Do (New Oxford, Pa./New Oxford), Jimmy Pombor (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport) and Ryan Foskey (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown) earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District, the organization announced on Tuesday (Nov. 21).

The 2023 Academic All-District® Men’s and Women’s Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA and be a starter or significant reserve – playing in at least 90 percent or starting in at least 66 percent of the team’s contests.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced December 19 (men) and December 20 (women). The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed at the links above.

In the classroom, Foskey has earned a 3.691 GPA and is majoring in Health Sciences/Pre-Physician Assistant.

On the field, Foskey earned his first PSAC All-Conference honor, landing on the second team after help anchor a hard-nosed Lock Haven defensive unit. Finishing second on the team in minutes, Foskey led all field players with 1550 minutes. The redshirt junior helped lead the Bald Eagles in securing five shutouts, while ranking seventh in the entire PSAC in goals allowed (25) and goals against average (1.39).

Pombor supports a 3.532 GPA and is majoring in Biomedical Sciences /Pre-Medical Science.

On the field, Pombor earned his second straight Second Team All-PSAC honor. Arguably one of the most athletic midfielders in the conference, J. Pombor finished third on the team in goals (two) and points (six), while also finishing tied with a team-high two assists. J. Pombor dished out an assist and scored a goal in back-to-back Bald Eagles’ victories over ESU and Shepherd that kept Lock Haven in the race to the postseason.

Do has earned a 3.986 GPA as a Health Sciences/Pre-Physician Assistant.

On the field, Do helped man the midfield alongside Pombor and finished third on the team with 1443 minutes. Do appeared in all 18 games, making 15 starts, while adding one assist.
