PennDOT to reopen both lanes of Flemington Bridge next Wednesday
CLEARFIELD, PA – PennDOT announced Friday it will reopen both lanes of the Flemington Bridge by close of business on Wednesday, Nov.22. Work to preserve the bridge, which spans Bald Eagle Creek in Bald Eagle Township and connects Flemington with Hogan Boulevard in the township, started in June. PennDOT said the work will improve the overall condition rating of the structure from fair to good.
While PennDOT will reopen both lanes to traffic next Wednesday, the sidewalks are still under construction and not expected to be accessible by pedestrian traffic until mid-December. As such, drivers should anticipate periods of intermittent flagging while the contractor works to complete the sidewalks.
Two other structures saw work under this contract. One is a Route 150 bridge spanning Chatham Run in Dunnstable Township. The other is a Route 220 bridge spanning Route 2006 and Fishing Creek in Lamar Township. Work on those bridges is complete.
HRI, Inc. of State College, PA, is the contractor for the $3.5 million job.
