Town Hall Meetings

November 5, 2023
Hello, I am Dr. William Baldino, and I am a candidate for the Keystone Central School District School Board for Region VI. I am writing to respond to implications made in posts by my opponent and another candidate in regard to the so called “Town Meetings” last month.
Information important for you to know includes the following:
1. I was never personally invited to the meeting, nor did I ever agree to participate, nor did I ever authorize anyone to do so on my behalf.
2. These proposed meetings have been planned and advertised by a committee consisting entirely of Democrats, three of whom are current School Board Members, two of whom are active candidates for School Director and who have access to privileged information not generally available to the public including the three Republican candidates, a third Democratic candidate for School Director, and a Democrat candidate for an office other than School Director. The composition of this board certainly makes questioning the objectivity of any product produced by it seem to be valid.
3. There was no consultation with any of the Republican candidates, nor agreement by any of them on dates, format, moderators, locations, or rules.
4. Printed signage advertising the event were prepared and printed without any input from myself or the other opposing non-planning board member candidates.
5. The meetings were falsely advertised as including candidates who had not agreed to participate.
6. My opponent implied that my absence suggested an “…apathy toward local self-governance…” I reply, not at all! Rather than the questionable forum constructed by a committee with at least the appearance of bias, I have visited almost all of the addresses in Region VI containing registered voters. I have shared my views with them, and more importantly, have had the opportunity to listen to their concerns. And they are concerned. I have not seen any evidence that my opponent has visited anyone, nor has anyone indicated that he has.
I thank you for taking the time to read this. I urge you to vote on Tuesday. It is one of the greatest of our American benefits.
William A. Baldino, M.D., FACS
School Director Candidate Region VI
