State College takes D-6 soccer title from Wildcats, 8-0
WINGATE, PA – The State College boys’ soccer team showed why they’re ranked number six in the state of Pennsylvania Monday night as the Little Lions scored early and often on the way to an 8-0 win over Central Mountain in the District 6 Class 4A championship contest at Bald Eagle Area High School.
The swift and tall Little Lions got on the board several moments into the game, put up four goals in the first half and four more in the second on the way to the win. State was clinical in its approach as the Lions moved to 13-0-4 on the season and into the PIAA playoffs.
The loss ended Central Mountain’s 6-game winning streak and the Wildcats, who battled all night long, ended up 10-6 with a District 6 runner-up showing.
