Wildcat boys’ soccer starts postseason at Altoona
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP, PA – Even though the Central Mountain boys’ soccer team won the teams’ lone regular season meeting, the Wildcats will be the visiting team when the District 6 Class 4A playoffs begin Thursday, Oct. 26 at 6:30 p.m. Central Mountain (9-6), the number three seed, will travel to Altoona (13-4), the number two seed.
The Wildcats won their lone meeting with the Mountain Lions, a home field 1-0 shutout on Aug. 30, the match’s lone goal scored by Pierce Long. Goalies Luke Simcox and Jaggar Pardoe split duties in the net in what was the season opener for coach Billy Hooks’ team.
Thursday’s winner will play #1 seed State College (12-1-4) for the district crown on Monday, Oct. 30 at Bald Eagle Area.
Central Mountain will take a five-game winning streak into the Oct. 26 district semifinal at Altoona’s Mansion Park.
