Obituary – Lewis C. Jones
Lewis C. Jones, 88, of Water St. Lock Haven passed away Oct. 1, 2023, at the Lock Haven UPMC Hospital ER. He was born in Lock Haven, Jan. 16, 1935, to the late Sam and Blanch Wagner Ammerman.
Lew was a graduate of the Mill Hall High School and had worked at the former Lock Haven Papermill until his retirement in 1997. He was united in marriage May 8, 1954, to the former Virginia A. Stevens who preceded him in death Oct. 21, 2018. Lew and Ginny enjoyed traveling and vacationing in their motorhome. For over the last 15 years Lew would spend time every day at Subway with his coffee crew, which he found great joy in.
Survivors include two daughters; Trudy Bullock and Tina Blazina both of Lock Haven, also surviving are 5 grandchildren; Ginny Brickley, Sarah Swales, Becky Fritts, Cameron, Tanner Blazina and 8 great grandchildren. Lew was preceded in death by a son; Daniel Carl Jones in 1955.
Memorial Services for Lewis C. Jones will be held on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2023 at 10:00 AM in the Gedon Funeral Home & Cremation Services LLC. 121 W. Main St. Lock Haven, PA. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home from 9:30 AM until the time of the services.
Officiating will be Pastor Alan Eckenroad. Interment will be in the Liberty Baptist Cemetery, Blanchard PA. at the convenience of the family. Memorials in Lew’s name can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
