Obituary – George W. Lucas

George W. Lucas, 95, of Brookhaven, PA, passed away on September 17, 2023. He was born on February 24, 1928, in North Bend, PA, to the late Orrie and Lena Ross Lucas.

George was predeceased by his five siblings, Orrie Lucas, Elsie Crossley, Carmin Spirnock, Elizabeth Lambert and Ken Lucas.

George was a dedicated and loving husband to his wife Phyllis Lucas, the love of his life, whom he married in 1951. Together, they shared seventy-two years of love and cherished memories. George is survived by his wife Phyllis Lucas, son Andy Lucas (Lisa), granddaughter Chelsea LaRose (Mike), grandson Craig Lucas (Emily), and great granddaughter, Lucy May LaRose, also loving nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews and great great great nieces and nephews.

George was a graduate of Renovo High School and went on to further his education at the Pennsylvania Institute of Technology.

In service to his country George served with the US Army military police at Grey Air Force Base in Killeen, Texas.

Following his military career, George and Phyllis moved to Brookhaven where he worked for Piaseki Helicoptors which became Vertol and then Boeing where he served as the Supervisor for the Machine Shop making Chinook helicopters.

Outside of work, George enjoyed various hobbies that brought him joy and fulfillment. He was an avid bowler, loved turkey hunting, and had a talent for woodworking. He also embarked on countless adventures throughout the United States with his wife Phyllis in their motorhome.

George was an active member of St. Joseph’s Parish in Aston, Pennsylvania.

George will be dearly missed by his wife, and family and all those who knew and loved him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

The Bateman Allen Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements during this difficult time. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday October 14th at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be preceding from 9:45 to 10:45 at St. Joseph’s Parish in Aston, Pennsylvania. There will be no burial at this time.
