Renovo railyard site going back on the market

LOCK HAVEN, PA – The old Renovo railyard acreage on the north side of Renovo will soon be back on the market. According to a report from Mike Flanagan, Clinton County Economic Partnership President/CEO, at Wednesday night’s Clinton County Economic Partnership annual meeting, the site is expected to be on the market in October.

There had been a nearly decade-long effort to locate a billion-dollar natural gas-to-electricity facility on the vacant ground but developer the Bechtel Corporation pulled out in April of this year as the project’s development dragged on and on in the permitting process; environmentalists challenging each step in that process.

According to information filed this month at the Clinton County Court House, the deed for the site was signed over from owners Renovo Rail Industries LLC and Robert A Maguire to Jersey Shore State Bank, the “consideration” listed as $1.

The Flanagan report said the bank reported an appraisal listed the site value as $770,000 “and that is likely to be the asking price.”
