Beech Creek Blanchard Fire Company calls public meeting over funding concerns
BEECH CREEK, PA – Add the Beech Creek-Blanchard Volunteer Fire Company to the list of emergency service providers with “funding concerns.”
The longtime Beech Creek-Blanchard public service staple has announced word of a public meeting later this month, an informational session on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at the fire station on Locust Street in Beech Creek.
The company recently posted word on the meeting to which the public is invited:
The Beech Creek Blanchard Volunteer Fire Company wishes to invite the community to a public information session regarding funding concerns for the fire company. The Fire Company serves properties located in Beech Creek Borough, Beech Creek Township, Curtin Township, and Liberty Township. As with all volunteer fire and EMS services, the communities must work together to find sustainable solutions to ensure the stability of the fire and EMS services, and make sure someone is available to respond when the call goes out.
For many years, the municipalities within the service area of Beech Creek Blanchard Volunteer Fire Company have provided some form of support or funding for the fire company. But the time has come when the support mechanism needs to be formalized and reliable. The cost of operating and maintaining a good fire and EMS service does not allow for short-term solutions.
The Fire Company invites you to attend the information session to be held on September 27, 2023, at 7:00 pm, at the Fire Station, 38 Locust Street, Beech Creek, PA. The municipalities have been invited to attend. Please come out and show your support and express your opinions regarding the need for reliable and sustainable emergency services.
