Flemington Bridge project remains work in progress
FLEMINGTON, PA – The original plan called for the Flemington Bridge to be open to traffic-light controlled one lane traffic by the end of June, but that did not happen as the contractor found that additional repairs are required. As a result, PennDOT has extended the detour for the preservation project with no update on when the detour might be lifted.
Meanwhile the state highway agency has announced its crews this week are scheduled to begin seal coating Route 120 (the Renovo Road), starting just outside of Renovo Borough and heading south to Lock Haven. As previously noted, no detours are planned, but single-lane traffic will be in place and could lead to travel delays.
According to information relayed by the Clinton County Economic Partnership, when the seal coating work heads back north along Route 120, crews are also slated to seal coat State Route 1014 (Hyner Mountain Road), then complete seal coating along Route 120 north to the bridge heading into Renovo. A final section of seal coating will be done along State Route 1002, Island Road in Lock Haven/Castanea, starting under the Constitution Bridge and eastward to the Second Island Bridge and back. The seal coating is weather dependent.
