Canadian forest fires cause return of local air quality alert
STATE COLLEGE, PA – For the second time in June, smoke from Canadian wildfires has caused authorities to issue an air quality alert for much of central Pennsylvania, the “orange” alert in effect until midnight Wednesday for both Clinton and Centre counties.
A more serious Code Red has been issued for much of western Pennsylvania, including Clearfield County.

…AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT TONIGHT… The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has issued a Code ORANGE Air Quality Alert for a portion of central Pennsylvania until midnight tonight. A Code ORANGE Air Quality Alert means that air pollution concentrations may become unhealthy for sensitive groups. Sensitive groups include people with heart or lung disease, older adults, children and teenagers, and outdoor workers. The effects of air pollution can be minimized by reducing outdoor activities.
