LHU grad Chance Marsteller soars to Victory at Final X

NEWARK, N.J. – Chance Marsteller, a 2019 Lock Haven graduate and former two-time All-American for the men’s Division I wrestling team bested Olympic gold medalist and World Champion Jordan Burroughs in a best-of-three series Saturday at 79 kg to win Final X. With the thrilling victory in hand, Marsteller clinched his place on Team USA for World Championships.

The 2023 Senior World Championships will be held in September in Belgrade, Serbia.

After dropping a close one in round one, Marsteller rebounded and grinded out a thrilling 5-4 win in round two. In the winner take all – third round, Marsteller trailed early, but put things away with an exclamation point, thanks to a dominating 8-3 win. Marsteller won the best-of-three at 79 kg, 2-1.
